Mathematics
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our middle school mathematics program uses the Big Ideas Math curriculum to support students in developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through problem-solving, reasoning, and real-world applications. Students engage in collaborative learning experiences that build confidence, critical thinking, and mathematical communication skills. Through exploration, practice, and reflection, students strengthen their ability to persevere through challenges and apply mathematics to everyday situations. Our goal is to help every student become a confident, capable mathematician prepared for success in high school and beyond.

Language Arts
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our middle school Language Arts program uses the myPerspectives curriculum to engage students in meaningful reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking experiences. Students explore diverse perspectives, analyze complex texts, and develop their voices as effective communicators. Through the study of engaging novels such as Monster, The Outsiders, and other thought-provoking texts, students examine themes of identity, justice, relationships, and the human experience. Our Language Arts classrooms encourage curiosity, creativity, and collaboration while preparing students with the literacy skills needed for success in high school and beyond.

Science
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our middle school science program uses the Amplify Science curriculum to engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity and scientific thinking. Students investigate real-world phenomena, develop explanations based on evidence, and apply scientific practices to explore topics in life science, physical science, earth science, and engineering. Through collaboration, problem-solving, and exploration, students build the skills of scientists while developing a deeper understanding of the world around them. Our goal is to empower every student to think critically, ask questions, and see themselves as capable scientists.

History / social science
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our middle school history program uses the TCI (Teachers’ Curriculum Institute) curriculum to help students explore the people, events, and ideas that have shaped our world. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and analysis of primary and secondary sources, students develop critical thinking skills while making connections between the past and present. Students examine diverse perspectives, investigate historical questions, and build their understanding of geography, civics, cultures, and global events. Our history classrooms encourage curiosity, empathy, and informed citizenship while preparing students to better understand and participate in the world around them.

Physical Education
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our Middle School Physical Education program promotes lifelong health, fitness, and wellness through engaging and active learning experiences. Students develop physical fitness, movement skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits while participating in a variety of individual and team activities. Our PE program encourages students to challenge themselves, build confidence, set personal fitness goals, and demonstrate respect and responsibility both on and off the field. We believe that regular physical activity supports academic success, social-emotional well-being, and the development of healthy habits that last a lifetime.

English Language Development (ELD)
At Rosa Parks TK–8, our Middle School English Language Development (ELD) program provides dedicated support for students who are learning English and developing the academic language skills needed for success across all subject areas. Through ELD 1 and ELD 2 classes, students build proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening while expanding their vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence as communicators. Our Study Skills class supports students in developing organization, time management, note-taking, and effective learning strategies to become independent and successful learners. We honor the diverse languages and experiences our students bring while creating a supportive environment where every student can grow and achieve their goals.
We offer ELD 1 and ELD 2 and Study Skills.
