Profile

Greetings from Rosa Parks K-8 School and welcome to the 2019 – 2020 school year. It is an honor to serve as one of the Assistant Principal’s here at Rosa Parks and get to work with such a fantastic group of dedicated and caring educators. Here at Rosa Parks we are student-centered and we pride ourselves on working closely with families to create an exceptional learning environment for our students.

It is my desire to keep the focus on increasing student achievement and doing whatever it takes to help ALL our students be successful and enjoy coming to school each day. I believe that learning should be fun and that school should pave the way for a lifetime of learning. Thank you for choosing Rosa Parks and allowing us to work with your child each day.

The Rosa Parks staff desires to provide your child with the best educational program possible.  There are three expectations we will be focusing on throughout the year.  They are Being Safe, Being Responsible and Being Respectful.  Our commitment to all of our students and families are the following:

  • Creating a safe and caring school that students enjoy going to and parents are proud to have their children attend.
  • Increasing student achievement for ALL students and helping each student master the CA state standards.
  • Knowing each student as a unique and special individual so that we can challenge him or her at his or her current level.
  • Developing a strong school/family communication and support system.

Regularly checking on your child’s progress is very important. It will help you notice strengths and find areas that need to be strengthened. Talk to your child daily about what he/she does in the classroom and on the playground. If you have concerns or questions, please contact your child’s teacher. The school’s phone number is (916) 395-5327. In addition, prompt and consistent attendance is a necessary and important component of your child’s education. To help us provide your child with the best education possible, please avoid being absent unless absolutely necessary.

Remember, that you are the best gift you can give your child. You are your child’s most important teacher. Spend time with your child. The K-8 years go quickly, but they are among the most important and fundamental years of your child’s life.  I encourage you to get involved by joining our PTO, volunteering at school activities, and taking an active role in your child’s education.  Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can be of any assistance. We are here to help you and, most importantly, to help your child be successful!  With that being said, only one thing is left to say…….

Welcome to the Pride,

Mr. McDaniel
